Dental implants are a permanent and appealing solution to replace missing or extracted teeth. They are better than other alternatives like bridges because no additional teeth need to be altered to place the new tooth. The only negatives are it takes several months to restore and is the most expensive option to replace missing teeth.

The implant process takes several months. The first part of the process is to install the implant itself which will be done by a periodontist or an oral surgeon. We can assist you with choosing the right specialist to complete this part. We only use and restore Nobel-Biocare implants, they have been around for many years and manufacture quality parts.

The implant must be allowed about 3-6 months to heal, and during this time the jaw bone will form around the implant in a process called osseointegration.

After the implant has healed it is time to take impressions so a custom abutment and crown can be fabricated. The abutment serves as the base for your new tooth and gets screwed/torqued into the implant that the specialist placed. Then the crown will be cemented onto the abutment and your smile will look just like it used to. Implants feel most like natural teeth and every patient so far has been happy they chose an implant even though the cost was considerably higher.
